About the International Clay Target Club

What a fantastic sport we enjoy. From the very beginning, the founding members shared the same joys we do now, a family sport shared with friends, great food, and the simple pleasure of being outdoors. Clay target shooting is a sport that challenges both body and mind. It can take you all the way to representing your country or simply offer the joy of spending time in good company.

The International Clay Target Club began with a small group of Italian migrants who shared a passion for hunting and the outdoors. In the early 1960s, these friends would gather with their families, enjoying meals and lively conversation, often dreaming about continuing their shooting passion even when the hunting season was closed.

Money was tight, but in 1964 they pooled their savings and purchased their first Plus Trap, the club’s humble beginning. The group shot wherever they could, driven by enthusiasm and community spirit.

From those early makeshift days, members turned enthusiasm into momentum, then momentum into a home for the sport in South Australia. The result is a friendly club that still feels personal, with facilities ready for local practice and state level events.

The club now offers seven DTL layouts, four Skeet layouts, two Olympic Trap layouts and one Compak or 5 Stand layout.

Proudly conducts the South Australian Clay Target Association State Championships.
