The International Clay Target Club is one of South Australia’s leading venues for clay target shooting. The club welcomes licensed shooters, competitive athletes, juniors, beginners, social shooters and corporate groups who enjoy Down The Line, Skeet, Trench and Compak shooting.
We are the only club in South Australia with Olympic Trap also known as Trench layouts, with two Olympic Trap layouts and three Olympic Skeet layouts. The club is the central venue where the South Australian Clay Target Association conducts state championship competitions.
Based in Buckland Park, about forty minutes north of Adelaide, the club provides a safe and well organised setting with excellent facilities and a long history in South Australian clay shooting. New shooters are always welcome, and experienced members are happy to help you get started.

Try clay target shooting in Adelaide
Clay target shooting is a sport for all ages and skill levels. You do not need a firearms licence to try it for the first time. Our supervised Come and Try sessions include everything you need, from equipment and safety gear to guidance on stance and aiming.
Safe, supervised sessions for all experience levels
You will shoot at moving clay targets. It is an exciting way to test your coordination and focus, and it’s easy to see progress with each round.
Sessions are held on Thursdays and Saturdays, and bookings are essential. Qualified range officers supervise all participants, and complete safety instruction is provided before shooting begins.

Corporate and group clay shooting events
Clay target shooting is an excellent activity for corporate functions, team days, or social groups. Everyone participates under close supervision, and all equipment is supplied.
A fun and social experience for teams and groups
The club can host small or medium (20 persons) groups by arrangement. The canteen and veranda provide a relaxed area to enjoy refreshments between rounds, and the day can be adjusted to suit your group’s size and schedule.

Our shooting disciplines
Members and visitors can enjoy a wide range of disciplines at the club. Each offers a different challenge and skill focus.
Down The Line (DTL)
Uses one trap that sends clays away from the shooter at varying angles.
Skeet
Involves crossing targets from two trap houses, testing timing and smooth gun movement.
Trench or Olympic Trap
Uses multiple traps that send targets at a higher speed and a wider range of angles.
Compak or 5-Stand
Combines elements of sporting clays and trap shooting, using several stations and target presentations.
Visitors can watch a shoot, take photos, or join as spectators before deciding which style they would like to try.

Become a member
Joining the International Clay Target Club gives you full access to practice sessions, club competitions and social events throughout the year. Membership with the Australian Clay Target Association (ACTA) includes $12,000 gun insurance (conditions apply).

Full and recreational memberships available
The club offers Full and Recreational memberships as well as discounts for juniors, ladies and veterans.

Guidance for new shooters and juniors
Members can practice on programmed days, attend coaching sessions and compete at local and state championships. New members are guided through the process of obtaining a firearms licence if they wish to progress from Come and Try sessions to regular shooting.

Our facilities
The International Clay Target Club is located on spacious grounds with a full range of trap and skeet layouts. The complex includes seven Down The Line traps, four skeet layouts, two Olympic trap ranges and a Compak or 5-Stand layout. Two DTL layouts are equipped for night shooting.
The clubhouse has a canteen with snacks and refreshments, and there is plenty of covered seating with a view over the grounds. Visitors will find ample parking, toilets, and clear signage throughout the venue.
The club operates to strict safety standards with qualified range officers present whenever shooting takes place. Eye and ear protection are mandatory, and all visitors receive a short safety briefing before entering the shooting area.

Club practice runs every Thursday and Saturday between 10 am and 4 pm.
Club competitions
Club competitions run on programmed Saturdays and Sundays as scheduled in our Central Zone calendar.
Corporate and social groups
Corporate and social groups are welcome; options are discussed and arranged at the time of booking.

Formed by a group of dedicated shooters, the International Clay Target Club has been part of South Australian clay target sport for decades. The club hosts major state events and welcomes shooters from across Australia.
